Finally I bought Android Phone :) I am software engineer and the first thing what interesting it was version of my Android. It was 2.2.1. And when I have read about Android on Google I saw that already have been Android 2.3.3 :) The first thing what I thought it was 'How I can update my mobile OS?'. The Samsung has not released new version of Android yet, and all what I can do it's look for a custom firmware. In web-site 4pda.ru I found Android 2.3.3 for Samsung Galaxy S. From link gone to torrent tracker and have downloaded Android 2.3.3. The next I installed firmware on smartphone.
This is a simple way how update Android:
1. Power off the Galaxy S and reboot into the ‘Download Mode’. To dot it, press and hold ‘Volume Down’ button, ‘Power’ button, and ‘Home’ button simultaneously till you see an android character sweeping with a message ‘DON’T TURN OFF THE TARGET!!!’.
2. Run the ODIN tool.
3. Connect the phone to computer via USB Cable.
4. One of the box in ODIN will turn yellow color.
5. Click ‘PDA’ button in ODIN, browse and select the ‘*.tar’ file that you earlier downloaded.
6. Click ‘PIT’ button, browse and select the PIT file that you downloaded.
7. Make sure ‘Auto Reboot’ and ‘F.Reset Time’ checked in options.
8. Click ‘Start’ button and wait for the process to complete.
9. After the process is complete, you will se ‘PASS’ message in ODIN and the Galaxy S will automatically reboot into the new Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
After all this I have good smartphone from Samsung with new Android 2.3.3 :)
My Samsung Galaxy S has 1568 points on Quadrant!!!
